February 2006 Loft Profile
This month I had the opportunity to interview Carrie about her loft in the Mueller Lofts building in Castleberry Hills. Unfortunately, Carrie has to move soon, but this is a great opportunity for you; as of this writing her loft is still on the market – meaning if you like this loft it could be yours and you could be living in it in the next few months!
Carrie has lived in her loft for 4 years and decided on it after looking at many places throughout Midtown and Downtown. She wanted a true loft in an old renovated building, with a great view of the city. This made Castleberry Hills an ideal candidate for a neighborhood due to its abundance of converted warehouses and factories; also the proximity to downtown gives many residents great views of the signature tall buildings, the capital, and even the regular summer fireworks over Turner Field. She also values community and wanted a neighborhood that was fun, with great neighbors, and that was walkable.
Carrie first heard about the Mueller Lofts on the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s Tour of Lofts and Lifestyles. She then worked with a real estate agent who took her to many lofts including in Castleberry Hills and West End, but none compared to the Mueller Lofts in her mind with the location, style, secured parking, and finished touches.
Carrie enjoyed getting ideas for decorating her loft by seeing the lofts of neighbors and friends and going on loft tours. Today, her loft is a standout in form and style.
When asked how her loft is good for her lifestyle, she responded, “It’s in a perfect location for getting to everything in Atlanta, within walking distance of the new Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. There are many restaurants we an walk to and there are plans for a lot of restaurants and retail to be opening in Castleberry within the next year. All highways are extremely convenient as well. There are a lot of events in Castleberry Hill, monthly ArtStrolls, the annual Loft Tour and Chili Cookoff, and much more. There’s always something to do and people to talk to and hang out withâ€.
